Today, I’m pulling back the curtain and walking you through exactly what it’s like to work with me — from the very first message to the moment you get your final photos.

If you’ve ever felt a little nervous or unsure about the process, don’t worry — my goal is to make it easy, exciting, and fun every step of the way.


Here’s what you can expect when you book a session with JLauren Creative!

Step 1: Inquiry and First Contact


The process starts with a simple inquiry — usually through my website, Instagram, or email.

When you fill out my contact form, I’ll ask for a few key details like the type of session you’re interested in, your preferred dates, and anything else you want me to know.



Once I receive your message, you’ll hear back from me quickly (because I’m just as excited as you are!) with all the info you need, including available dates, pricing, and answers to any questions you have.


My goal is to make this first step feel easy and welcoming — no pressure, no confusion, just good communication and good vibes.

Step 2: Booking and Planning


Once we’ve nailed down the perfect date and session type, I’ll send over a simple online proposal where you can review everything, sign the contract, and pay the retainer to officially lock in your session.


From there, the fun really begins!

I’ll send you a session guide packed with tips on what to wear, how to prepare, and what to expect. We’ll also work together to choose the best location, time of day, and overall vibe for your shoot so it feels 100% you.


Whether you already have a vision or need help brainstorming, I’m here to make planning feel effortless.

Step 3: Session Day!


It’s here — session day!

This is where all the planning comes to life. Whether it’s a cozy couples session, an epic senior shoot, a branding session, or a playful family session, I’ll guide you the entire time so you never feel awkward or stiff.


We’ll start with some easy, natural poses to warm up (yes, it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous at first — that’s part of the magic!). I’ll give you prompts and direction to help you relax and genuinely have fun. My favorite moments are always the candid laughs, the in-between looks, and the unexpected magic we capture when you’re just being yourself.

Step 4: Editing and Magic Time


After our session, I’ll carefully go through all the images to select the very best moments — the ones that truly tell your story.

I hand-edit each photo in my signature style, making sure the colors, tones, and emotions shine through. This part of the process is where a lot of the magic happens, and I take it seriously because I know how much these memories mean to you.


You’ll typically get a sneak peek within a couple of days (because I know you’re dying to see them!), and your full gallery will be delivered within 3 weeks after our session.

Step 5: Final Delivery


Once your gallery is ready, I’ll send you a private link where you can view, download, and share your images.

You’ll have the option to order professional prints, albums, or canvases directly from your gallery if you want — no stress, no extra work.

And don’t be surprised if I send a little thank-you surprise your way — I genuinely appreciate every single person who trusts me with their story.
